چکیده
As an alternative treatment strategy, the efficacy of neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) for patients with stage IB3 and IIA2 cervical carcinoma remains uncertain. To address this limitation, evaluates pathological outcomes locally advanced cancer (LACC) treated NAC before surgery compared those who underwent radical hysterectomy (RH) alone. A total 592 were eligible study. They divided into a group (NAC surgery, n = 259) RH (radical alone, 333). Propensity score matching (PSM) was used to eliminate confounding intergroup factors, leading 233 cases being finally included in two groups. Patients received 1–3 cycles nedaplatin plus paclitaxel/docetaxel/irinotecan regimens, followed by 3–5 weeks post-NAC. after diagnosis cancer. Intermediate-risk factors (i.e., lymphovascular space invasion deep stromal infiltration) high-risk lymph node metastasis, positive parametria surgical margin) recurrence LACC between groups PSM. The results showed no significant difference PSM (p > 0.05). In regard intermediate-risk observed inter-group analysis (lymphovascular invasion, p 0.028; infiltration, 0.011). After PSM, only infiltration remained significant, decreased incidence 0.004). conclusion, had minimal impact on group. However, we did observe decrease one-third invasion. These may be relevant decision-making process postoperative radiotherapy.

Comparative study of neoadjuvant chemotherapy before radical hysterectomy and radical surgery alone in stage IB2-IIA bulky cervical cancer.
OBJECTIVE To compare the efficacy of neoadjuvant chemotherapy with paclitaxel plus platinum followed by radical hysterectomy with radical surgery alone in patients with stage IB2-IIA bulky cervical cancer. METHODS From November 1999 to September 2007, stage IB2-IIA cervical cancers with tumor diameter >4 cm, as measured by MRI, were managed with two cycles of preoperative paclitaxel and plati...

Tumor size seems to be a determinant in the prognosis of early cervical cancer. Patients with tumor size greater than 4 cm (bulky) in diameter have worse outcome.' The purpose of this study was to compare the efficacy of preoperative combined chemoradiation and neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NArC) programs followed by radical hysterectomy in stage Ib - lIb bulky cervical cancer. From September ...

OBJECTIVE To evaluate the oncologic outcomes of adjuvant chemotherapy (CT) alone after radical surgery. METHODS We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of patients who underwent type C radical hysterectomy and pelvic lymphadenectomy with or without paraaortic lymphadenectomy for stage IB-IIA cervical cancer from March 2006 to December 2014 at 2 academic medical centers in Korea. Adjuv...

OBJECTIVE In order to evaluate the usefulness of neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) for stage II cervical squamous cell carcinoma with a bulky mass, we retrospectively compared patients receiving NAC followed by radical hysterectomy (RH; NAC group) with patients who underwent RH without NAC (Ope group). PATIENTS AND METHODS The study period was from June 2002 to March 2014. The subjects were 28 p...

Twenty patients with bulky (>4 cm size) FIGO stage IB cervical cancer were treated with cisplatin 50 mg/m2 and vincristine 1 mg/m2, administered intravenously at 10-day intervals for a total of 3 courses before radical hysterectomy. A complete clinical response was noted in 1 patient (5%) and partial response in 5 (25%). Fourteen patients (70%) had stable disease. There was no grade 3 toxic...
